26 THINGS I'VE LEARNED IN 26 YEARS

Inspired by Miss Karlie Kloss, here are 26 things I have learned in 26 years:

BE SELFISH FOR YOUR LONG TERM HAPPINESS

I always feel so pressured to not disappoint people I love, but I have learned that I must take care of myself first. Learn to live with the consequences. Say no if I feel that a certain path is not right for me and move on.

IT (REALLY) IS OK TO FAIL

OK, not that you should not care to fail. But whenever I go into a project, I always remind myself to lower my expectations of it turning out great. So if I do fail, I don't go beating myself for it and I know what to do to recover from the failure. And then, TRY AGAIN. Maybe it's not you, it's just timing.

NOTHING FEELS LIKE HOME

Study aboard, travelling with friends, nothing feels more right and safe than being at home.

HELPING OTHERS WILL HELP YOU

Yes, you have to love yourself but loving, caring other people helps you love yourself more. Helping out the poor for example even with little things will make you feel grounded. It helps to put your state of mind in a better place!

FRIENDS COME AND GO

BOYFRIENDS COME AND GO

VEGETABLES CAN BE DELICIOUS TOO

PRAYING HELPS

MAKE TIME FOR FAMILY ALWAYS

ONLY YOU GET TO DEFINE YOUR OWN BEAUTY

I have so many flaws, some are out there and most are hidden. I have gone through so many trips to the doctor, change my diet what not and I conclude after all this time that my flaws are here to stay. Finally, I am actually content with my flaws. They have been a part of me for so long that I don't see them as a different entity that clings to me anymore. They make me, ME!

AUTUMN IS MY FAVOURITE SEASON

WHEN YOU ARE STRESS, CRY IT OUT

AND THEN MAYBE, GO FOR A WALK. IT HELPS TO CALM YOU DOWN

LIPSTICKS ARE MOOD CHANGER

NEVER BAKE OR COOK WHEN YOU ARE TIRED

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TIME, DO NOT GET A PET

SORRY, EXCUSE ME, PLEASE AND THANK YOU, ALWAYS

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT

Now that my dad has been through so much these couple of months, with the recent heart attack and lung infection. The family as a whole has been eating healthier. Slowly but surely.

A MOVIE DATE CAN NEVER GO WRONG

BOOK STORES ARE THERAPEUTIC

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH SELFIE STICKS IF YOU ARE A TOURIST

HUGS AND SMILES ARE THE BEST MEDICINE

ALWAYS BRING YOUR CHARGER/POWER BANK WITH YOU. VITAL.

GO OUT ON A DATE WITH YOURSELF IS THE BEST DATE OF ALL

EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT

My partner had to fight for so many years to get educated. I get so upset when I see other people take education so lightly specially people who are well to do. Skipped classes, never finishing their course etc where as so many people out there are working their asses off to pay just to pay for their tuition fees. How I wish education here is free for all.

Even if you can't afford going to school, being interested in getting educated is important. Conversing and reading are some of the things we can do to open our minds and be the best being we can.

I just turned 26 last Tuesday and although I have so much to learn, I am happy I have been able to go through so many experiences that have shaped me to who I am right now.

Happy Birthday to me!

  1. I love you. I have news but I cannot bring myself to say it to you. I know what you will say to me but reading your list, gives me a lil bit of courage. I'll share it with you soon.
